TMB (tumour mutational burden)

Also written as TMB-high, TMB high, Tumor mutational burden, TMB score

What it means

TMB is the total number of mutations (changes) found in the DNA of cancer cells.

Why it matters

Tumours with a high number of mutations appear more likely to respond to certain types of immunotherapy. Your oncologist decides how to use the number.

Ask your oncologist

"What is my TMB value, and does it affect which treatments I can have?"

From NCI Dictionary of Cancer Terms: tumor mutational burden. Not medical advice: your oncologist decides.
