Gene and marker tests
ROS1 positive
Also written as ROS1 rearrangement, ROS1 fusion, ROS1 gene
What it means
ROS1 positive describes cells with a change in the structure of the ROS1 gene or a ROS1 fusion protein. Cancer cells with this change may grow more quickly. It can occur in non-small cell lung cancer and some other cancers.
Why it matters
Knowing whether a cancer is ROS1 positive may help plan treatment. Your oncologist decides.
Ask your oncologist
"Is my ROS1 result one that has matching treatments?"
From NCI Dictionary of Cancer Terms: ros1-positive. Not medical advice: your oncologist decides.
