HER2 IHC 3+
Also written as HER2 3+, IHC 3+, HER2 score 3, Her2 neu 3+
What it means
HER2 IHC is a stain test. A score of 3+ means more than 10% of cells stained completely and intensely. An IHC 3+ result is read as HER2 positive.
Why it matters
A HER2 positive cancer is usually treated with drugs that target HER2. Your oncologist confirms the plan.
Ask your oncologist
"My HER2 is 3+. What HER2-targeted treatment do you recommend?"
From American Cancer Society: Breast Cancer HER2 Status. Not medical advice: your oncologist decides.
