Blood markers
CA-125
Also written as CA 125, Cancer antigen 125, CA125
What it means
CA-125 is a substance that may be found in high amounts in the blood of people with certain cancers, including ovarian cancer. Levels may also help monitor how well cancer treatment is working or whether cancer has come back.
Why it matters
Your oncologist uses CA-125 along with scans and other tests, not alone.
Ask your oncologist
"How will we use my CA-125 values to follow my treatment?"
From NCI Dictionary of Cancer Terms: CA-125. Not medical advice: your oncologist decides.
